Access Denied – POETRY

Access Denied

The light shines into the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it....

The light shines into the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it….

Fear comes knocking on the door
No one loves you anymore
The future’s bleak, you’ll have no one
To run and play with in the sun

Faith answers firmly, access denied

Depression drags his feet along the hall
Brown robes sweeping the dust. The gall;
He knocks! An eviction notice in his hand
Proclaiming that you’ll never stand

Faith answers firmly, access denied

Anger calls, you must flare and fight
Goading you into hate and spite
A list of offences metres long
Just pay them back, you must be strong

Faith answers firmly, access denied

Misery visits, she is so sweet
Her eyes, so big with sadness, defeat
The joy you have, and bring you down
To feelings low, long hollow brown

Faith answers firmly, access denied

The right path...

Choose the right path…

The Spirit of God is here
Every thought being made captive
To the mind of Christ
Where you find
Words of truth, things that are noble,
Right, pure, lovely, admirable,
Excellent, praiseworthy –

Faith then answers, access is not denied…
