The Tesselaar Tulip Festival 2012

It is school holiday time in Victoria Australia and many of the children are to be found visiting the Tesselaar Tulip Festival at Mount Dandenong. We decided to take the trip up into the Dandenong Ranges to check it out.  First stop was Grant’s Park at Kallista where we enjoyed morning tea, and met some of the bird life there.  These are beautiful Crimson Rosellas

The Cockatoos are plentiful here, and as usual very noisy.  The come swooping down to eat the seed that is provided for them.  They are a favourite with the photographers.

Time to leave the birds and go see some tulips.

On the road again… through the wonderland of rainforest and tree ferns…beautiful scenery here

We promise to tiptoe and not trample…

One of the tulip beds at Tesselaar Tulips..wonder if this couple were on their honeymoon?

One of the many sculptures scattered around the garden beds …

And another.  They are for sale if you have a thousand or so to spare…

If you get tired, you can hitch a ride…

Children’s Gardens

There is an area for the children, and around the corner a fairy garden complete with rainbow, gnomes, a fairy and a wishing well…and more.  Plenty of food stalls as well.  A great adventure for children these school holidays.

Yes, we get the message Scooby Doo, it’s time to go home.
